Our Mission
Jersey Shore Running Club has run youth programs in our community for a number of years. We host youth races as well as provide youth coaching and running programs. We recently held a Kids Run the Nation Youth Running Program in Asbury Park for disadvantaged youth as part of an after school program there. The Club is dedicated to our community and works with many charitable organiizations which have recognized us for our efforts. Last yerar we raised through the events that we are associated with nearly $1,000,000 for worthwhile causes in our our community. We have about 1500 members in the area of Monmouth and Ocean County and are an active contributor to the local racing scene with a presence at just about all events at the Jersey Shore. Our Orange Tent can be seen just about every weekend at a local race.
Our involvement in the community include Special Olympics New Jersey where we are a Premiere Sponsor in the state through our Jersey Shore Relay for Special Olympics held every April - we are one of only a handful of organizations acheiving that level. We also host the Track and Field Event for Monmouth - Ocean County Special Olympics. We have also supported and been recognized by the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean County for who we hold a race ewvery September in Asbury Park, The Arthritis Foundation for whol we assist in holding 5K races.
Our Saturday in the Park Womnen's Race is the largest all women's race in New Jersey and it benefits:
Epiphany House of Asbury Park & Long Branch. Providence House, Lakewood. Spring House, Eatontown; Manna House, Cliffwood Beach
We also have been recognized by Habitat for Humanity where we have raised money and awareness through our Navesink Challenge 15K in Moddletown, NJ.

Suppport by Nike will assist the Club in providing a more robust Youth Running Program in Asbury Park and surrounding areas. We plan to host a series of races in Asbury Park which will benefit our Asbury Park Youth Running Program which the participants have named "Asbury Park Superstars". THe resouces provided in the grant will be leveraged with the money we raise through our running series to benefit the program. It will allow us to provide: shoes, uniforms, bags, and other running gear to these youth on a much broader and robust scale. We have received considerable exposure in local media from our program and the participation of Nike will enhance the visibility of the program. It will allow youth to participate in local track and field events, youth races and open 5K races. Our program is not just about running - We provide role models every week who talk to the youth about different careers - doctors, nurses, engineers, radio broadcast personalities, etc visit every week.
